Conductor

Dora-Hristova-foto-Mieczyslaw-MielochProf. DORA HRISTOVA PhD has been the Artistic director and conductor of the Bulgarian Female Vocal Choir “Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares” for more than 25 years. She is a reads lectyres at the Art Academy in Plovdiv, Bulgaria too.

Prof. DORA HRISTOVA is a graduate of the Bulgarian State Conservatoire. In 1985 she received her Doctor’s degree for “Problems of Interpretation in Contemporary Bulgarian Choral Music”. She experiments in the fields of sonority and different vocal ensemble sounding.

Prof. Hristova received the GRAMMY award as the conductor of the most of the pieces on the awarded Cellier’s CD “Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares” – Volume II (1990) and also had a second nomination for “Rituals” CD in 1994.

Her international success includes over 1200 concerts in the world’s most prestigious halls like “The Royal Festival Hall” and “The Barbican Centre” in London, “Avery Fisher Hall” in Lincoln Center /New York/, “Kennedy Center” /Washington/, “Boston Symphony Hall”, “Chicago Symphony Hall”, “Concertgebouw” /Amsterdam/, “Viedenburg”/Utrecht/, Disney Hall, Los Angeles and many others in North and South America, Europe and Asia.

In 2007 under the direction of Prof. Dora Hristova the choir was appointed the Ambassador of European culture.
